VEGAN Thanksgiving

VEGAN Thanksgiving :)

First ,
dear friends :)))

I think it's a good idea to ask your non vegans and vegan guests in advance :

__*how you can best accommodate them.
You may be surprised at their nice answers :)))

At Thanksgiving :

Some vegans are perfectly happy to enjoy all the traditional sides and do not need a substitute for the turkey as a centerpiece.

They may be happy with a non-traditional entree or no entree at all.

For cooks, most Thanksgiving problems are brought about by the number of dishes competing for the stove.

Others prefer to have a turkey substitute at the center of their table,
whether its a store-bought roast such as Tofurky or Unturkey.

The best solution is to make food in advance♥

Although Tofurky brand mock turkeys are the most well-known, several other brands of mock-turkey are available as well.

***Make your own homemade "Tofurky"!

Slice up this tofu turkey and serve topped with vegan gravy for a vegan Thanksgiving entree, or, make vegan turkey sandwiches.

2 blocks firm or extra firm tofu, well pressed
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
1 1/2 tbsp dry sherry
3 tbsp water
1/4 tsp black pepper

Freeze the tofu overnight. Allow it to thaw, then press well to squeeze out all the extra water.
Place the tofu blocks in a lightly greased loaf pan, squeezing them as close together as possible.

In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining ingredients.
Pour about 2/3 of this mixture over the tofu, and refrigerate the remaining 1/3. Cover the tofu in the pan, and allow to marinade overnight, or for at least 4 hours.

After marinating, pour the remaining soy sauce mixture over the tofu, then bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, basting the extra marinade over the tofu once or twice.

Remove the tofu from the oven and carefully flip it over.
Bake for another 45 minutes, basting occasionally. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Enjoy your homemade tofu turkey! :)))))))))

***Here a very good sauce recipe :
Find out in advance which your guests would prefer.

Your guests may not want or expect you to go out of your way for them by preparing a roast, so be sure to ask!

♥♥Encourage kids and teens to take an active role in preparing food that everyone can enjoy ♥♥

If you’re uncertain whether or not your guests will eat a certain food, its best to ask them directly.

♥If you have prepared something that your guest is unable to eat,
don’t take it personally.

By communicating in advance, there should be some understanding, but mistakes happen.

***If you have made a genuine effort to accommodate your guests, they will likely be appreciative.

I neither expect nor want people to go out of their way for me, and I often bring a few favorite dishes to share.
Don't be afraid to ask your guests to help out.

You may be able to make a few simple substitutions to dishes you are already preparing so that your guests can eat them.

__Use ***vegetable broth instead of a meat-based broth in your stuffing and gravy.

__***Substitute soymilk and vegan margarine for milk and butter in mashed potatoes

♥Thanksgiving day is a day for sharing love in family and with your friends, to show our vegan respect to nature ♥

I like to make made spectacular tortes, overstuffed lasagnas, and huge cakes ( both salted and sweaten ) or others ideas ..... I prefer any one of these to mock "turkey" made from seitan, tofu.
but feel free to make your choices as like your family and friends : IT IS THEIR DAY TOO♥

Adopt a turkey ♥
